Durga Puja festivities begin in Pimpri

The Durga Puja festival celebrations were started at the Rangaswamy Perumal Pillay Sanskritik Bhavan at Masulkar Colony with the local Bengali community members dressed in their traditional attire.

Pimpri: A five-day Durga Puja festival, organised by the Banga Bharati Durga Puja and Kali Puja Committee, commenced with enthusiasm and traditional fervour here on Monday evening.

The Durga Puja festival celebrations were started at the Rangaswamy Perumal Pillay Sanskritik Bhavan at Masulkar Colony with the local Bengali community members dressed in their traditional attire. Deputy Commissioner of Police Makarand Ranade, local corporators Sameer Masulkar and Vaishali Ghodekar, Bangs Bharati’s PK Bhattacharya and NC Datta were present.

The five-day Durga celebration will include various religious and cultural activities including daily puja, pushpanjali, aarti and cultural programmes.
