Pimpri: Commuting on the road from Dange Chowk to Aditya Birla Hospital in Thergaon has become inconvenient for commuters as the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has dug it up for laying a pipeline for its ambitious 24x7 water supply project.

The entire road has turned into a pool of mud. This road is an important link, as it connects Chinchwad to Dange Chowk. The same road is being used by IT professionals for commuting towards Hinjawadi IT Park.

Since the road has become slippery, many two-wheeler riders lose their balance and fall down.

Local corpoarotor Ashiwini Chinchwade raised this issue with the PCMC authorities. She said, “As per norms, PCMC cannot carry out digging work on any road during rainy season. Keeping these norms at bay, civic body has carried out digging work, due to which commuters are suffering a lot.”

Pravin Ladkat, Exicutive Engineer of water supply department of PCMC, said, “A special permission has been issued for installation of pipes for the 24x7 water supply project for the city. The work in that stretch of road has been completed, therefore, the contractor has been asked to repair the road as early as possible.”
