DTE to conduct additional round of admissions for two diploma courses

Pune: Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has opened an additional round of admissions for unaided private and private colleges along with government and government-aided colleges offering diploma in engineering and pharmacy for first year of post-SSC diploma in engineering and post HSC diploma in pharmacy.

DTE had earlier announced that an additional round of admissions will be held but only in government engineering colleges. However, a writ petition has been filed in Bombay High Court, demanding to include unaided private colleges in the additional round as well.

The third round of admissions for first year in post-SSC diploma in engineering and post HSC diploma in pharmacy was completed on August 20. According to previous notice from DTE, only government and government-aided colleges offering diploma in engineering and pharmacy would participate in an additional round of admission to fill vacant seats after three rounds. However, some unaided and private institutes approached Bombay High Court expressing willingness to conduct an additional round.

“DTE has given an option to all unaided private and private colleges whether they want to participate in this additional round. Accordingly, they can submit their details of vacancies in respective streams on the DTE website. A candidate can then find the names of college codes and its information while filling the additional round forms,” said Rajendra Gaikwad, Deputy Director of DTE, Pune region.
