Dr. Ashwin Porwal presents DLPL Technique at WorldCon 2017

The five day international conference was organized by International Society of Coloproctology. Experts from several countries participated in the conference.

PUNE: Renowned Colorectal Surgeon and founder of Healing Hands Clinic Dr. Ashwin Porwal presented his innovative technique Distal Laser Proximal Ligation (DLPL) at the World Congress on Coloproctology – WorldCon 2017, an International Conference held at Daman recently. DLPL technique is useful for treating recurrent and complicated fistula. 

The five day international conference was organized by International Society of Coloproctology. Experts from several countries participated in the conference. A two-day “Live Operative Workshop for Surgeons” was also held at the conference. Dr. Porwal also demonstrated his technique in this workshop. 

Speaking on sidelines of this conference, Dr. Porwal said, “DLPL technique offers various benefits to the patients as well as doctors. This newly developed technique helps early recovery of patients and prevention of recurrence of fistula. Since surgeons from different countries attended this conference, our presentation and workshop on this technique assumed greater significance. Surgeons worldover will also benefit from this innovative DLPL technique.” 

Dr. Porwal’s Healing Hands Clinic was certified as Center of Excellence by Italy’s Dr. Antonia Longo last year. Word over, very few proctology clinics are recognized by Dr. Longo. Many practising surgeons from different countries have undergone training at the Healing Hands Clinic in Pune. Recently, a team of surgeons from Sri Lanka government hospitals and a team from Iran had visited Healing Hands Clinic and undergone training.
