Director of Higher Education invites applications for supernumerary seats

According to the circular, the children of Indian citizens, who have been displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border area of J&K to a relatively safer place in the state from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities, are eligible for the seats.

PUNE: The Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra, has invited applications from the CET-2018 qualified candidates who are eligible for supernumerary seats for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) migrant candidates and have filled in CAP 2018 online application form.

According to the circular, the children of Indian citizens, who have been displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border area of J&K to a relatively safer place in the state from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities, are eligible for the seats.

Children of the officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or Indian Police Services (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS), children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces transferred to J&K to combat terrorist activities and children of staff and officers of J&K police engaged in combating terrorism are also eligible for the supernumerary seats.

The eligible candidates need to submit their applications with required self-attested photocopies of the documents in person or by registered post by July 20, to Director, Higher Education, Maharashtra State, Central Building, Pune - 411001.

The documents that need to be submitted are CET application form, CET scorecard, CAP application form signed by the candidate, qualifying examination mark memos and photocopy of the filled in proforma J/K/L as applicable.

The Directorate of Higher Education will allocate colleges to the candidates as per merit and options given by the candidate.

The circular also states that the candidates admitted on supernumerary seats are not eligible for transfer to other colleges.
