DigiThane now stronger

Thane: DigiThane, which launched in January last year has crossed the 1 lakh mark, today. With its objective of improving engagement with the citizens of Thane, Thane Smart City Limited (TSCL) started DigiThane program. 

Over the past year, Thane Municipal Corporation’s (TMC) DigiThane has made it possible for them to interact with more than 1 lakh households achieving more than 4 lakh two way interactions with the citizens digitally. The digital platform has kept its 1 lakh registered members informed by publishing more than 500 municipal updates, timely traffic and railway alerts, 400 events, show happenings and also offers discounts and deals from over 500 Thane retailers, health clinics and hospitals, educational institutes, entertainment parks and restaurants.  
    
Apart from its constant updates, alerts and other benefits, DigiThane enabled numerous engaging activities based on surveys where Thane citizens outlined what they need. In an effort to encourage different spectrums of society aged from 5 to 60 years, these frequent activities and surveys were designed to correlate with targeted groups such as school children and parents, youth and college students, working professionals, women and senior citizens, respectively. These focused events, activities and surveys became an effective medium for foster involvement from all citizens.

Some of DigiThane’s interactive events were or are:  
Stroke Seminar: A seminar in association with Jupiter Hospital was conducted to raise awareness about brain attacks and strokes.

Yoga Workshop:  A workshop conducted with Shri Ambika Yoga Kutir brought together more than 80 yoga enthusiasts from Thane.
 
DigiThane’s SmartKid Contest: A school contest based on the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 initiative.

Thanekar Helping Thanekar Initiative: Notifying local donors about blood emergencies at Thane’s major hospitals. RMR Shopping Festival: Helping local merchants regain grounds and keep pace with e-commerce websites.

Thanes UTH Icon: Connecting with the youth from the top 15 colleges of Thane
 
Thane’s Best Society Awards: Honoring Thane’s most eco-socio-friendly societies. 
 
DigiMitra Live Webinar Series: Conducting live discussions and seminars with Thane residents, school and college students, working professionals etc.

Click Thane Photography Contest: Giving local amateur and professional photographers recognition and a digital platform to present their skills
 
Predict & Win (Cricket) Contest: Promoting the spirit of cricket by creating a fun-interactive contest.

These activities were done through the municipal corporation was widely appreciated by all Smart City CEOs in the Smart City CEO Conference held in Delhi by MOHUA on February 26 and 27, 2019. The presentation by Thane Smart City CEO on DigiThane was deeply appreciated by many, for ensuring that core of Smart City Mission of engaging citizens was taken in the true spirit by the TMC that enabled them to connect to the masses on a large scale, gaining positive feedback and appreciation from Thane citizens for being proactive and keenly involved.

Sustaining the same vigour and enthusiasm, TMC & Thane Smart City Limited appreciates Thane citizens, merchants and associations for their incessant support and gratitude in helping DigiThane program achieve this leap of success and hopes that more households will become a part of this program which will help to deliver the vision set out by the Thane Municipal Corporation.
