DGQA to celebrate its diamond jubilee

Pune: Director General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee this year. Controllerate of Quality Assurance (CQA) (Special Vehicles), Dehu Road, Pune, which is a unit under DGQA, Ministry of Defence, has also conducted various programmes.

To commemorate the occasion, DGQA has planned technical, social welfare and adventure activities. The theme this year is to make local industry aware for creating ‘Defence Business’ in their portfolio through ‘Make in India’.
The industry is being encouraged to register as Defence Suppliers.

The inauguration of these events at CQA (SV), Dehu Road started with a Yoga Camp and is to continue with a tree plantation drive, a blood donation camp, quality awareness week, a vendors meet and a cycling rally.

The tree plantation drive and Yoga Camp was inaugurated by A Talukdar, Officiating Controller and Col MS Soni, Joint Controller respectively. In this drive, 5,000 plants are being planted to preserve the environment in and around Dehu Road area. Various schools, including Army Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Station units and Ordnance Factory Dehu Road are participating in the drive.

The celebrations will culminate with a cycle rally being conducted under the aegis of Maj Gen SS Chadha, ADGQA (V) on September 12. ‘Ex Nature Trail on Bicycles’ will be flagged off by the Chief Guest, Lt Gen Shamsher Singh, DGQA, at Peacock Bay, NDA.
