Pune: The Director General Border Roads (DGBR) Lt Gen Harpal Singh has launched a mobile app ‘GREF ABHILEKH,’ which will benefit 36,000 GREF personnel in remote border areas.
He visited GREF Centre & Records, Dighi, on Friday and Saturday. The General Officer assumed command as Director General Border Roads on March 28 and this is his first visit to GREF Centre & Records, Pune.
He was briefed on training, recruitment and human resource management by Col SP Singh, Commandant GREF Centre & Records, during the visit. General Officer released the ‘Manual on Publication of Part II Orders’ and also implemented and launched the app. He also interacted with troops and inspected the training and administrative infrastructure available in the GREF Centre.
The General Officer expressed satisfaction that in the era of booming Infotech, GREF Centre & Records has drawn out the IT roadmap and moved ahead with Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), SMS Alert System, the Info Kiosk and the mobile app, which will not only enhance functional efficiency but also bring transparency in overall system thereby boosting the morale of the troops.
