Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates Pune district collectorate building

Pune: Recalling the recent anti-corruption bureau trap on Deputy Collector Dhanaji Patil for accepting Rs 1.25 lakh bribe from a farmer, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said there is a need to improve the credibility of government departments in the State. The CM was speaking at the inauguration event of newly built district collectorate office near Pune station on Saturday afternoon. "Recently, a senior official was caught in an anti-corruption trap which has not set a good example for the government. There is need to improve working culture in government departments," added Fadnavis. 

Minister of State for Social Justice Dilip Kamble, MP Anil Shirole, Shivajirao Adhalarao Patil, Guardian Minister Girish Bapat, Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Dalvi, Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil, Collector Saurabh Rao and other politicians were also present. Speaking at the event, Fadnavis said that there is a need for government officials to be sensitive and increase work efficiency. "The government is focused on bringing 'zero pendency' system in all government offices across the State which will benefit the common man," added Fadnavis.

Speaking about Pune, Fadnavis said that Pune has always been the torch bearer in bringing cultural and ideological revolution in the country and hence, government officials of Pune should also set a good example across the State.

Appreciating efforts
While ending his speech, without naming former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Fadnavis said that as a symbol of appreciation, a board about the person who laid the foundation stone of the newly built district collectorate building should also be placed in the building. Fadnavis thanked people who built the new district collectorate office and also who laid the foundation stone.
