Barve was the chief guest at the BITS Annual Language Industry Awards 2017 ceremony, organised by city-based BITS Pvt Ltd.
Madhuri Hegde was honoured with the 'BITS Language Professional of the Year' award. She was given a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 21,000.
Barve and Sandeep Nulkar, Founder & CMD, BITS Pvt Ltd, felicitated the winners.
Sunanda Mahajan got the ‘BITS Special Recognition Award’. She received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 11,000. Yogita Tahilram won the 'BITS Aspiring Language Professional of the Year' Award. She was presented with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
BITS Pvt Ltd provides complete translation and localisation language solutions. It instituted the ‘BITS Annual Language Industry Awards in 2011.
The awards were given on the occasion of International Translation Day, which is celebrated worldwide on September 30 every year. The idea is to recognise achievers from the translation and localisation industry while bringing the focus on translation and localisation as a profession and to make aspiring translators and consumers of language services aware of the importance of working with professional translators. Sandeep Nulkar also spoke at the event.
