Speaking at the launch event on Friday evening, Vice Chairman and CEO Dassault Systemes Bernard Charles said that the lab will be accessible, as well as affordable to people.

PUNE: With the aim to accelerate and support startups for product innovations, Dassault Systemes, a market leader in 3D Experience solutions, launched their first 3D Experience Lab in Pune.

The move comes after the great success of similar labs in Boston and Paris. The lab, which has been set up at their Phase I office in Hinjawadi, will provide entrepreneurs, makers and startups access to unique resources of Dassault Systemes, which will help them to work on disruptive innovations, leverage collective intelligence and nurture projects that have the potential to transform society.

Speaking at the launch event on Friday evening, Vice Chairman and CEO Dassault Systemes Bernard Charles said that the lab will be accessible, as well as affordable to people.

“The use of technology helps in reducing risks. For instance, imagine a doctor trying out his hands on the 3D environment before performing an actual live heart surgery. The 3D experience will give him an edge and minimise risk during actual surgery,” said Charles.

Speaking about the use of 3D in industry, Charles said that people can plan better and be precise during actual implementation. Similarly, the operation will also be faster. He said that at initial stage people will be allowed to use the tools of the lab. “If they are not able to solve their problem, we will support them to solve the problem,” he added.

Speaking about the reasons behind the launch of the Pune lab, Charles said that Pune has great talent and so the launch of the third lab at a global level was in Pune.”We will also be expanding our Pune office,” he said.

With the 3D Experience Lab, the selected startups will have access to Dassault Systemes cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform and worldwide ecosystem to accelerate their product development process for two years with technical mentoring, marketing and business development.

Sudarshan Mogasale, CEO, 3DPLM, Dassault Systemes, said, “It is indeed a great moment for us to launch the 3D Experience Lab in India at our own facilities on the Dassault Systemes research and development campus. Our goal is to build a community of intelligent, creative and passionate people, focused on positively impacting society, through disruptive innovation.” Samson Khaou, MD, India Dassault Systemes, was present on the occasion.
