CSMT-Pune Intercity Exp has new look with LHB coaches
The coach has improved interiors and passenger safety
Pune: The Intercity Express operating between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) has a new look and coaches. The railway administration has converted this train into Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches. The train will operate with 16 coaches instead of 15 at present.
The train number 12127/12128 departed from Pune Junction at 5.55 pm and was flagged off by Technician Dattu Narayan Khaire and Shunting Master Sherkhan. During the event, Milind Deouskar, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Praful Chandra, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), Krishnath Patil, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (SDCM) and other officials were also present.
The coach has improved interiors and passenger safety. These coaches are equipped with ‘controlled discharge toilet system’ (CDTS) and
bio-toilets, which are environment-friendly. This coach has high durability, requires less maintenance and has improved riding quality. These coaches have a capacity to run at a speed of 160 kmph. These coaches do not climb over as it has anti-climbing feature and does not crash because of a special type of CBC (Centre Buffer Coupler). This train will have dedicated power cars for running AC and other electrical appliances.
