Criminal lands in Khadak police’s net

Pune: Officials of the Khadak police were successful in nabbing a wanted criminal on police record with over 16 criminal cases against him, during patrolling on Friday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Rizwan alias Tipu Pathan. As per Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Mokashi of Khadak police station, Rizwan was wanted in an assault case on Sambhaji Bhosale, who was attacked at Handevadi Chowk on July 19.

The arrested accused has been identified as Rizwan alias Tipu Pathan. As per Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Mokashi of Khadak police station, Rizwan was wanted in an assault case on Sambhaji Bhosale, who was attacked at Handevadi Chowk on July 19. 

Rizwan was arrested under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and was out on bail. “Policemen Ganesh Mali and Ashish Chavan received a tip-off that Rizwan will be present near Ramoshi gate chowki to meet his friend. Accordingly, a team of Khadak police nabbed him,” said police Sub-inspector Sanjay Gaikwad of Khadak police station. 

Police said that the accused is involved in cases of murder, extortion, attempt to murder and others. He has been handed over to Hadapsar police for further investigation. The police team also included policemen Vijay Kamble, Sandeep Kamble and Aniket Babar.
