Cops issue notice to organisers of Elgar Parishad

The Pune police have issued a notice to six people including members of Kabir Kala Manch, Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh and Bhim Army for involvement in organising Elgar Parishad.

Pune:  The Pune police have issued a notice to six people including members of Kabir Kala Manch, Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh and Bhim Army for involvement in organising Elgar Parishad.

The notice was issued by Shivaji Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Swargate. The notice was issued to Jyoti Jagtap, Ramesh Gaychor, Sagar Gorkhe of Kabir Kala Manch, MN Kamble, District  President of Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh, Dutta Pol of Bhim Army and  Anjum Inamdar of Mulnivasi Muslim Manch. 

The notice dated June 11 mentions the case filed against the five accused at VishrambaBaug police under UAPA and asked them to report to  ACP Swargate office for questioning. The five accused are in police custody.

MN Kamble of Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh said, “They have called the people who were organisers or have participated in the event. I went there on Wednesday and was questioned. I was not actively involved in organising Elgar Parishad.”

Anjum Inamdar of Mulnivasi Muslim Manch said, “They are calling the main organisers of the event for questioning. I was called and will go there on Friday.”
