Cops arrest two, recover 17 stolen bikes

Sleuths from Crime Branch Unit 3 have arrested two persons and recovered 17 stolen bikes worth Rs 5.05 lakh from their possession. 

Pune: Sleuths from Crime Branch Unit 3 have arrested two persons and recovered 17 stolen bikes worth Rs 5.05 lakh from their possession. 

The arrested accused were identified as Asif Gulab Shaikh (23) and Amit Shivaji Chavan (29), both residents of Pargaon in Satara district. 

The arrest was made based on a tip-off received by Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmane of Crime Branch Unit 3.

With their arrest, the police have solved vehicle theft cases including nine registered with the Hadapsar police station, three with Bharati Vidyapeeth police station and two with Pune rural police.

The investigating team included Inspector Dinkar Mohite and policemen Ashok Bhosale, Rohidas Lawande, Gajanan Ganbote, Atul Sathe, Sandip Talekar, Sujit Pawar, Machchindra Walke, Shivanand Swami, Nilesh Patil, Sandip Rathod, Kalpesh Bansode and Sandip Girhe.
