Pune: The family members of police personnel living in Shivajinagar
Police Lines on Sunday morning protested outside District Guardian Minister Girish Bapat’s residence, demanding proper water supply to their colony. They have not received water for the last three days.

Another group of the protesters including children blocked the road between Modern College and the Police Lines for half an hour in protest.
About 2,000 police personnel stay in the biggest colony of cops in the city. After the Khadakwasla canal breach, water supply was disrupted in many parts of the city.

The women said their husbands work round the clock for safety of the people but there is nobody to look after them. “It’s festival time and there is no water supply for the last 3 to 4 days. We are forced to carry water in utensils till the fourth floor where our quarters are located. Does any minister feel our pain?” the women asked.

They said that they have contacted the PMC as well as senior police officials but they did not get any help.

Bapat assured them that he will arrange for water tankers. Meanwhile, BJP MP Sanjay Kakade sent ten water tankers to the colony and promised to supply tankers till water supply is restored.
