Pune: State Education Director (Secondary) Dinkar Temkar will appoint a special three-member committee to inquire about the investigation headed by Commissioner of Education into the alleged collection of the capitation fee by St Anne’s school, Khadki, said Commissioner Vipin Sharma.

Taking cognisance of the complaint filed by Matin Mujawar of Shikshan Hakka Manch, which was fighting against the school, the director issued a letter for action to be taken against the principal and also demanded that a three-member committee be formed.

Mujawar had refused to pay the school fee and thus the school held back the final result card of his daughter Zuweria Mujawar.
Dinkar Temkar, Deputy Director of Education, issued a letter to the Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, seeking action against the education officers, ZP Pune, for deliberately delaying the inquiry and for its failure to abide by the orders of the senior officials, under the service rules.

Mujawar also had threatened to go on indefinite hunger strike from May if no action was taken against the school.
The school charged Rs 14,000 without mentioning any reason. Mujawar said, “The school is a 100 per cent aided school and the management cannot charge any capitation fees from the student.”

He also alleged that this is nothing but mental harassment of my child. While I have challenged the school, they still keep humiliating my daughter by asking for fees.

“They have held her report card, which is actually against the law, which states that a student’s report card should never be held back because of non-payment of fees.” he said.

In a letter signed by Dinkar Temkar, Deputy Director of Education, Pune region, dated February 28, 2018, he has clearly stated that the Zilla Parishad Education Department needs to probe the issue, and take adequate action.
