Pune: Department of Production Engineering and Industrial Management of CoEP held the third edition of Industry-Academia Conclave on Friday.
The event was organised to bring together leaders from all industries, where SAP ERP is implemented, and the academic world to share their views on the emerging technologies and resulting trends impacting the ERP industry today.
Nandkumar Giriyapur, Managing Director, Deloitte Consulting India Pvt Ltd, while speaking to students, said, “Every so often, business models change, businesses change. SAP and ERP evolve to meet those business needs and the demand of ERP and SAP consultants are going to be there.”
“There is not a day since I started working on SAP that I have not learnt something new. Every day, I get to learn new things so if you are looking for challenges and continuous learning, this is absolutely the right track for you,” Giriyapur added.
Pravin Bhamare, SAP Delivery Head, Tata Consultancy Services, Shailesh Moholkar, Global ERP Practice Director, Syntel, Pritam Choudhari, Sr. Director-SAP Consulting, Cognizant, Sambhaji Chawale, CEO | Director, Technology and Innovation, PRIMUS Techsystems were few of the names present at the conclave.
Mayur Patil (24), who is pursuing post graduation diploma in ERP, said, “This was a great opportunity, I learnt that we need to be lifelong students, change with the technology and be up-to-date with the industry needs.”
Ishani Dhote (24), who is pursuing post graduation diploma in ERP, said, “The conclave was informative and I learnt that learning is a prolonged process and you need to update yourself. If you don’t, your career is over. You also need to love what you do.”
