“There are 564 housing societies of which 352 have started composting wet garbage. There are some bulk generators who are not composting the garbage so we are holding this expo to inform them about different measures of composting. This expo will give societies a chance to interact directly with these vendors,” Dnyaneshwar Molak added.

PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will hold an expo of composting vendors for the housing societies that have not yet started composting their wet garbage, said Dnyaneshwar Molak, Head of Solid Waste Management Department of the civic body. The PMC is expected to hold the expo in the next one month.

Earlier, in January, the PMC had issued a notice to the housing societies that are bulk generators (100 kg and above) of wet garbage and are not composting in the premises. The expo is being held to create awareness among the housing societies.
