City set to see more showers

Pune: According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), a well-marked low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal has concentrated into a depression.

Under the influence of the above system, widespread rainfall along with heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy rains are very likely over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and widespread rainfall activity with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places are likely over gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand till July 23.

For Pune city, seasonal rainfall, that is from June 1 till date, reported in the city is 314.3 mm against the normal rainfall of 266 mm. After a lull in rainfall, IMD has predicted few spells of rainfall till July 27 in the city with moderate day and night temperatures.

Also, IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in the Konkan and Goa region, Vidarbha as well as central Maharashtra till July 24.
