City may experience one to two spells of rain, predicts IMD

After a dry spell of rain in the city, India Meteorological Department (IMD) noted that the southwest monsoon has been subdued over central Maharashtra, Marathwada, east Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. However, it has been vigorous over east Rajasthan.

Across the State, on Sunday, only Mahabaleshwar and Mumbai experienced rainfall. Other cities in the State reported no rains. Highest maximum temperature reported was 33.6 degrees Celsius in Akola and the lowest minimum temperature was reported in Mahabaleshwar at 16 degrees Celsius.

Pune on Sunday recorded 29.6 degrees Celsius during the day and 17.5 degrees Celsius during the night. 
IMD also forecast that rain is very likely at a few places over Konkan and Goa and at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha on September 10. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Marathwada during the same time.

According to the Met department, till September 15, Pune city may experience one to two spells of rain, predicted IMD. However, the maximum temperature will be around 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 20 degrees Celsius.

Between September 11 to 13, rain is very likely at a few places over Konkan and Goa and at isolated places over central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha, said IMD. IMD predicted that heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places is likely over Assam and Meghalaya. Heavy rain at isolated places.
