City doc appointed president of Indian Orthodontic Society

Pune: City-based orthodontist Dr Shailesh Deshmukh has been selected as President of Indian Orthodontic Society. Dr Deshmukh recently took charge of this prestigious post at the annual conference of Orthodontic Society, held in Jaipur last month. 

Amongst all specialities in the dental field, he is the first dental professional from Pune to be elected at the national level at the post of the president.

Pune: City-based orthodontist Dr Shailesh Deshmukh has been selected as President of Indian Orthodontic Society. Dr Deshmukh recently took charge of this prestigious post at the annual conference of Orthodontic Society, held in Jaipur last month. 

Amongst all specialities in the dental field, he is the first dental professional from Pune to be elected at the national level at the post of the president.

Dr Deshmukh has a distinguished career in dentistry and orthodontics since 1986. He completed his post graduation from the Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai. Practicing dentistry and orthodontics since three decades, Dr Deshmukh is also a fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK and former Chairman of Indian Board of Orthodontics.

His role in the field of dentistry and orthodontics has been multifold, ranging from being a professor, post-graduate guide, and facilitator of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics at Bharti Vidyapeeth University, Dental College and Hospital, Pune. He has publications in national and international journals.
