City BJP launches health check-up for women

Yogesh Gogawale said, “In the first phase of the scheme, we will conduct check-up of 5,000 women in various parts of the city. We will enroll 500 women in each area. Health cards for each woman will be made for regular tests.”

PUNE: It seems the ruling BJP has decided to woo female voters ahead of upcoming polls as it has introduced a free women’s health check-up under ‘Aditi Stree Arogya Cha Shri Ganesha’ scheme. The scheme will be launched in the city on September 8 and free sanitary napkins will be distributed to women who can’t afford them. 

While addressing a press conference, BJP City Unit Chief Yogesh Gogawale, who is also the coordinator of this Abhiyan in the city, said, “In the first phase of the scheme, we will conduct check-up of 5,000 women in various parts of the city. We will enroll 500 women in each area. Health cards for each woman will be made for regular tests.” 

The scheme will be launched at Nanasaheb Parulekar Hall, Shastri Nagar. During the event, a documentary film will be screened, a street play will be performed and a counselling session will be conducted. Similar programmes will be arranged in areas like Vishrantwadi, Yerawada, Dhayari, Dhankawadi, Viman Nagar, Kothrud, Hadapsar, Bibvewadi.
