Pimpri: Chinchwad-based Ramkrishna More College is all set to start a special course on Goods and Services Tax (GST). As GST is being introduced across the country from July 1, the aim of the course is to produce required manpower for the market after GST rollout.
Through this curriculum, the college is going to introduce new career options for students from Commerce stream. In this special course, experts from Mahratta Chambers of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture are going to help the college. Dr MG Chaskar Principal of the college said,
“Since GST is the biggest tax reform in the country, it is going to open new career avenues for students. Therefore, Ramkrishna More College of Pune Zilla Shikshan Mandal has started a special course on GST in the college.”
Since GST is going to boost the economy by making domestic trade more easy, there will be a competitive environment in the city, which will be favourable for trade. In such a situation, the market will require trained manpower in GST. Therefore, we have designed this short-term GST course and there will be 80 students in each batch. For the course, there will be nominal charge and students will get a certificate after completing the course.
Chaskar said, “Being an industrial belt, the companies in Pimpri-Chinchwad and Chakan area will require more manpower with in-depth knowledge of GST. Hence, the students who are completing special course in GST will get better job opportunities in the market.”
Student who appear for the GST course will be provided jobs through placement from the college
