PUNE: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Friday has released a video footage and photographs of the accused involved in the killing of Rahul Fatangade during Koregaon-Bhima riots.
By releasing the video, the police is seeking a large scale publicity to nab the killers of Fatangade. The video shows the gruesome murder of Fatangade who was killed by a group of youths who attacked him with sticks and smashed his face with stones and then moved away from the spot after killing him.
Fatangade, who died in the riots at Sanaswadi village on the Ahmednagar Highway during the clashes between the two groups on January 1 was from a modest background.
The riots erupted in Koregaon-Bhima during the 200th anniversary of the battle of Koregaon-Bhima.
Akkannouru Prasad Prahlad, Superintendent of Police, CID, said, “In the video, four youths are seen killing Fatangade. We are searching for them and we are not aware of their locations.”
Previously, the CID has arrested three persons and are searching for the remaining four who were involved in Fatangade’s murder. The total number of accused in the case has reached seven persons.
