Change of command at INS Shivaji

Pune: Commodore K Srinivas assumed command of Lonavala-based INS Shivaji at a ceremonial parade on Friday. He succeeds Commodore KP Arvindan, who moves to Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (IHQ MOD), as Principal Director, Fleet Maintenance, after completing 20 months at the helm.

Pune: Commodore K Srinivas assumed command of Lonavala-based INS Shivaji at a ceremonial parade on Friday. He succeeds Commodore KP Arvindan, who moves to Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (IHQ MOD), as Principal Director, Fleet Maintenance, after completing 20 months at the helm.

Commodore K Srinivas was commissioned in the engineering branch of the Indian Navy on January 1, 1990. His major appointments are Engineer Officer of INS Viraat, Fleet Engineer Officer of the Western Fleet, Warship Production Superintendent for the Vikramaditya project (in Russia) and Principal Director of Aircraft Carrier projects. 

Prior to taking command of INS Shivaji, the officer was Principal Director of Fleet Maintenance at IHQ MOD (Navy). He also holds a B Tech (Marine Engineering), M Sc in Defence Studies from Madras University and M.Phil from Mumbai University.
