Chakan faces power cut for two hours

Pune: The Chakan area including Chakan MIDC faced power cut on Thursday morning for almost two-and-half-hours due to faults in two transmission lines. The power supply to four 22KV lines had to be cut for the day to facilitate repairs.

The fault was detected in 400 KV two feeder lines of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) at Chakan substation.

A statement released by MSEDCL said, “Areas like Chakan city, Kuruli village and Chakan MIDC had to be back-fed from alternative sources. When it became impossible to manage the load, a two-hour load-shedding was imposed.” Due to power failure, as many as 3,500 industrial consumers at MIDC Chakan, Sara, Ahmednagar and Kalyani did not get the power supply. Another fault on the Chakan Chinchwad 132KV line led to three hours of load-shedding, said the statement.

Complaint redressal

A complaint redressal drive is organised for consumers on August 4 in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Mulshi, Manchar and Rajgurunagar. The redressal will be only for those who have installed solar power systems and have net meters. It will be held at MSEDCL Rasta Peth office.
