Pune: Dr Anjali Morris Education and Health Foundation and Sunderji’s Institutions, in association with Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, is launching a Certificate Course for Skill Development in Special Education (Learning Disabilities, Autism and Intellectual Disability).
The one-year course includes two semesters for the trainers with an aim to prepare special educators and teachers at pre-primary, primary and middle school levels. The trainers will be taught to serve in inclusive and integrated school settings, to build knowledge on various aspects of learning disabilities, autism and intellectual disability, its impact and management. Total hours for the course will be 450 (180 hrs for Theory and 270 hrs for Practical).
“For practical knowledge, the participants will be taken to organisations and schools catering to special education,” said Dr Uma Kulkarni of Morris Foundation.
Graduates from Science and Arts stream, BEd Graduates, Graduates from Home Science or Diploma in Child Psychology are eligible for this course.
The courses will be held at Dr Anjali Morris Education and Health Foundation, Shivajinagar, Ghole Road Pune. The faculty comprises experts and professionals from the field of Education, Special Education, Psychiatry, Social Work, Psychology and Medical Fraternity.
Anjali Morris Foundation, a non-profit organisation in Pune established in 2008, seeks to help students with Learning Disabilities by offering remedial educational assistance and by training teachers to work with such students. The Sunderji’s Institutions run institutions for the children with special needs.
