CBSE Class X, XII exams to be held in March

Pune: Withdrawing its recent decision to start the board exams a month early (i.e. in February) for Std X and XII, CBSE has instead decided to hold the exams as usual in March.

While is wasn’t officially declared, the board was considering the possibility of holding the examinations for Std X and XII in February. However, it has been clear now that no such changes will be made on the schedule.

The only change expected may come in the form of the duration of the examination, which, according to sources, may be reduced to fewer days. At present, the board examinations, at times, stretches to as many as 40 to 45 days. There is a possibility that the number of days may be reduced by 10 to 12 days. However, the schools haven’t received any formal notification for the same yet.

Around 1.1 million students have registered for CBSE Std XII exam. While 3,502 exam centres have been allocated for Std X exams, 10,678 exam centres have been allocated for the Std XII exams.
