PUNE: After receiving criticism from students for conducting Physical Examination paper of Std XII board examination right after the JEE Mains, the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) has changed the date of the examination.
The paper will now be held on April 13. The Board Physical Education Examination was earlier to be held on April 9, which was just a day after JEE Mains. The students voiced their discontent over this arrangement, also starting a petition on change.org requesting the board to reschedule the exam. Following this, the board, on Wednesday, issued a notification informing the change in the date of the paper.
Apart from Physical Education, the students had also expressed rage over lack of appropriate number of preparation days allotted to important papers like Physics, Accountancy and Philosophy. However, the board has maintained that the dates of all other papers remain unchanged.
The Std X exam will be held from March 5 to April 4, while Std XII Board exams will now be held from March 5 to April 13. For the Std XII annual examination, 11,86,144 students are expected to appear. The CBSE-affiliated schools have been instructed to conduct their practical examinations from mid-January till January 31.
