Case against Samruddha CMD for duping man

Pune: An FIR has been registered against the CMD of Samruddha Jeevan, Mahesh Motewar, and one of his accomplices, for allegedly duping a man from Rajasthan of Rs 1.52 lakh by not giving him returns on his investments.

Dharam Singh (27) had lodged the complaint at his native place Reti Ki Jhopri in Karauli district of Rajasthan. Later, the complaint was transferred to Deccan Gymkhana police station, under Pune city police, as the incident had taken place under their jurisdiction between 2011 and 2015. Samruddha Jeevan Multi-State Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society office is located on Ghole Road in Shivajinagar.

According to the FIR, Motewar’s accomplice Santosh Lomde lured the victim with lucrative returns on investments. 
However, the company did not give him returns to the tune of Rs 1.52 lakh which was promised.

The case has been registered for offences under sections 419 (impersonation), 420 (cheating) and other sections related to forgery under the Indian Penal Code.

In the past also, several such cases have been filed against Motewar and his accomplices.
