Cadets felicitated for their achievements
At the convocation ceremony of the 134th National Defence Academy (NDA) course, on Tuesday, the cadets who topped the science, computer science and arts streams, were felicitated.

Academy Cadet Adjutant G Naveen K Reddy won the Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) Trophy presented by General K Sundarji for standing first in the science stream. CSM Surendra Singh Bisht got the Admiral’s Trophy presented by Admiral Sureesh Mehta for topping the BSc (Computer Science) programme. Cadet Prajapati Mittal Kiran bagged the CAS trophy presented by Air Chief Marshal NC Suri for securing the first rank in arts stream.
Reddy, who hails from Giddalur in Andhra Pradesh told Sakal Times, “After winning a medal, I am feeling very special. To win a medal is a big thing and when you are receiving it in the presence of your parents, it is a huge honour.”
Reddy is an Air Force cadet and aims to be a fighter pilot in the future. His father, Subedar GP Reddy, who is serving in the Signal Regiment of Indian Army, said, “Naveen had got the All India Rank (AIR) 4 in the Service Selection Board (SSB). He was a school topper also.”
Cadet Mittal, who hails from Mumbai, said, “I am very happy to receive this trophy, as this is the biggest trophy here. My instructors helped me a lot and they always supported me. I am an Army cadet. So, I will be going to the Indian Military Academy (IMA) for a further one-year training.”
He added that the first year is always tough as you are new to everything, be it training or academics but with time, you adjust. Cadet Mittal’s father is a tailor and his mother is a housewife. Cadet Bisht, who comes from a civilian background, will be joining the IMA.
Cadet Ahmad Fahim Muslih from Afghanistan said, “The NDA has given me friends for life. The academy has transformed me into a better human being.”
