BVF to organise exhibition from June 2 in city

On June 2 and 3, the foundation will hold a river cleanliness drive at Ramnadi and Mutha River bank at Vitthalwadi.

Pune: On the occasion of World Environment Day, June 5, Being Volunteer Foundation (BVF) will hold an exhibition of posters, paintings from June 2 to 5 at Balgandharva Rangmandir with this year’s theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.

On June 2 and 3, the foundation will hold a river cleanliness drive at Ramnadi and Mutha River bank at Vitthalwadi.

The subject of the exhibition is ‘Solution on Plastic Pollution’ where some 100 paintings, 70 posters and 120 collages will be displayed. Other NGOs like Paani Foundation, Naam Foundation, Green Hills Groups, Model Colony Parisar Sudharana Samiti, Vasundhara Swachtta Abhiyaan and Swachh Pune - Swachh Bharat will also accompany in the exhibition with the foundation. There will be demonstrations on how to make useful things out of plastic waste. 

Speaking about the exhibition, Kailas Narvade, founder of the foundation said, “The exhibition which is free, is open from 10 am to 8 pm. The exhibition will focus on plastic awareness and children especially will be taught on how to make different items from plastic.”

He further said, “We will also distribute cotton or paper bags. People are registering with us to take sessions on paper bag making and to teach crafts from waste plastic.”
