Before buying land, check out litigation on e-Disnic

Pune: Property buyers interested in buying a piece of land can now access the information about ongoing litigation concerning the land parcels at a click of the mouse. Under e-Disnic (District Information System of National Informatics Centre) programme, Pune district administration has started uploading survey numbers online.

Ramesh Kale, Additional Collector of Pune district, told Sakal Times, “Buyers are often worried that they will end up buying property without knowing about ongoing litigation concerning the land they are interested in buying.” On e-Disnic, the district recently started uploading the survey numbers of the properties. He added, “As a result of this, buyers can immediately know if there is litigation by just searching with the help of survey number.”

It may be recalled that State government has given an ultimatum to all district collectorates to clear pendency of quasi-judicial cases at the earliest. These cases are pertaining to disputes related to records of rights or 7/12 documents, sale deeds, land encroachment, development rights, and lease pendency.

Pune district has done a phenomenal job in deciding quasi-judicial cases in last one year. Kale added that till May-end, 969 out of 2,700 pending cases were decided.

He added that currently, 1,668 cases are pending. He said that in another year, he is confident to clear the pendency of revenue cases.
The pendency of cases was discussed during the Revenue Conference held this month.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who was present for the inauguration session, had instructed district collectors to clear the pendency of quasi-judicial revenue matters.
