Burglary attempted at post office

Police informed that the unknown accused broke into the post office with the intention of stealing the valuables after the office hours. They may have entered the post office during the night

Pune: In an uncommon incident, some unknown thieves attempted a theft at a post office in the jurisdiction of Hadapsar police station. The attempt took place at the Manjari post office situated in Haveli taluka in the hours between Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Police informed that the unknown accused broke into the post office with the intention of stealing the valuables after the office hours. They may have entered the post office during the night.

Post Master of Manjari post office Narendra Rajput, in his statement, informed police that the thieves opened the cupboard and took out all the letters. Later, they tried to break open the safe, however, they left empty-handed after their unsuccessful attempt.

Police have registered a case against unknown accused under section 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment) and 380 (Theft in dwelling house).
