Pune: Industry experts claim that the propsed budget by finance minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday will stand beneficial for pune. Anant Sardeshmukh, Director General,Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture(MCCIA) said that the budget 2018-19 is more in line with the expectations.

"The emphasis is on rural ,agri , and infrastructure development which will help the government to increase productive investment which is required for the revival and growth of economy and GDP. This would indirectly help the industry by generating demand for various auto and capital goods as well as consumer goods. The Pune Industrial hub especially the auto hub tend to get benefitted by this rural demand.Increase in customs duty on certain auto components may also benefit the MSMEs of Pune in addition to the income tax reduction given to them. Also a lot depends on the implementation and the success lies there." added Sardeshmukh.

The director general said that pune has a huge market for agri, dairy products and the budget is in favour of such markets. "Similarly the food processing industry in Pune will also get benefited" added Sardeshmukh.

Experts said that pune houses a large number of senior citizens and so raising the limit of deduction for medical expenditure, health insurance will certainly benefit senior citizens.

Speaking on the budget Vikas Khanvelkar, Managing Director, DesignTech Systems Limited said that the overall budget is very rural focussed and has many schemes to support farmers and rural healthcare."It will not have much impact on urban population" added Khanvelkar.
