BORI library to remain open all 365 days of year

The BORI library has around 1.35 lakh books and over 28,000 manuscripts. Around 35-40 books here are very rare. 

Pune: The library at Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI) will remain open for all 365 days, including weekends and public holidays from 11 am to 5:30 pm. This decision came into effect on August 1. 

The catalogue for the books will soon be available on the website www.bori.ac.in <http://www.bori.ac.in/> 

The library will not only be open for the members, but for all those who wish to get an access to it.

The BORI library has around 1.35 lakh books and over 28,000 manuscripts. Around 35-40 books here are very rare. The institute is also coming up with an e-library project. 

While the books are now available on the intranet of the institute, the institute plans to make the digital library available on the Internet as well once the process of digitisation and cataloguing is over.
