PUNE: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unofficially launched its campaign for the upcoming State Assembly election in 2019. After ‘Mahapaur Aplya Dari’ (Mayor at your doorstep) initiative, Vadgaonsheri MLA Jagdish Mulik is going to start ‘Aamdar Aplya Dari’ (MLA at your doorstep) to connect with voters and solve their problems. The latter was used by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in 2017 civic election as their party campaign.
Mulik will begin this campaign from May 19 in Kharadi.
Vadgaonsheri Assembly constituency is gaining in importance, with NCP and BJP trying hard to capture this seat. The BJP had given the post of Standing Committee Chairman to Corporator Yogesh Mulik, who is Jagdish Mulik’s brother.
“To solve common man’s problems, I have decided to organize ‘Aamdar Apalya Dari’ campaign. We are planning three more programmes in different parts of this constituency. In this campaign, we call all officials from corporation’s departments, MSEDCL, Revenue department, traffic police and police department, so that people can reveal their problems and get them solved,” Mulik said.
Mayor Mukta Tilak’s ‘Mahapaur Aplya Dari’ campaign began on May 7 and will end on May 25. She is an aspirant of Kasba Assembly constituency. The initial concept was introduced by former NCP mayor Prashant Jagtap as the corporation’s initiative.
