Bapat gives inauguration programme a miss again
NCP alleges BJP is not serious about development works in PCMC areas
Pimpri: Guardian Minister Girish Bapat gave the inauguration programme of the Empire Estate flyover in Pimpri-Chinchwad a miss despite his name being mentioned on the invitation card.
This is not the first time that he has skipped a programme in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Last month too, he skipped the ground-breaking ceremony of the Post Graduation Medical College Building in the civic-run Yashvantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital.
Reacting to this, NCP City Unit Chief Sanjog Waghere said, “Before coming to power in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Girish Bapat had given several promises to residents of the city. There were announcements for solving issue of unauthorised constructions, Bopkhel Road and other pending issues of the Defence Department.”
On Monday, the Empire Estate flyover, the Y junction at Pimple Gurav, and a ramp to Nashik Phata flyover were scheduled to be inaugurated by Bapat. However, he did not not attend the function and the inauguration was done by BJP MLA and City Unit Chief Laxman Jagtap.
Waghere said Bapat had promised that he will visit the city every month and understand the problems related to development projects. He claimed that the guardian minister has completely ignored the city during the BJP’s year-long rule. “He has not attended any meeting related to development projects. This shows how serious BJP is about the city’s problems,” said Waghere.
