Bapat assures 100 acres land for HC bench in Pune

Pune: The District Guardian Minister Girish Bapat on Saturday assured a delegation of the Pune Bar Association (PBA) that 100 acres land will be reserved for a High Court (HC) bench in the city. 

It may be recalled that last month Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had assured Rs 100 crore for a HC bench in Kolhapur. This had led to dissentment in Pune lawyers fraternity, who have been demanding a HC bench here for the last 40 years.

PBA had sent a letter to Bapat demanding an explanation about what exactly transpired in the CM's meeting with the Kolhapur delegation led by Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil, who is from Kolhapur. 

Bapat called PBA officials on Saturday at VIP circuit house. He assured them that soon he will facilitate their meeting with Fadnavis and that 100 acres land will be reserved in Pune for the HC bench. 

PBA President Advocate Subhash Pawar, Vice President Advocate Bhupendra Pawar and others were present for the meeting.
