Banga Bharati Durga Puja festival starts tomorrow

Pimpri: Banga Bharati Durga Puja and Kali Puja Committee will hold its 33rd Durga Puja festival at Rangaswamy Perumal Pillay Sanskritik Bhavan at Masulkar Colony here from October 15 to 19.

The five-day Durga Puja festival celebrations will include various religious and cultural activities including daily puja, pushpanjali, aarti and cultural programmes.

The puja committee’s President PK Bhattacharya and Secretary NC Dutta said that the Durga Puja festival celebrations will be attended by a large number of Bengalis residing in Pimpri, Chinchwad, Bhosari, Nigdi, Pimple Saudagar and other areas. This is the sixth year that the puja celebrations will be held at the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Pillay Bhavan, they said.

The Puja Committee will also host Bhog Prasad distribution from October 16 to 18, daily from 1 pm to 3 pm. The five-day festival is an important religious and cultural event of the year for the local Bengali community. On Dashami, the last day of the festival, there will be Sindur Utsav from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm, followed by an immersion procession to Bhosari. There will be Bijoya Sammelan from 8.30 pm onwards.
