Ban on transportation of fodder out of Pune

In order to plan the management of fodder in a better way, Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram has banned transportation of fodder out of Pune district for two months.

Pune: In order to plan the management of fodder in a better way, Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram has banned transportation of fodder out of Pune district for two months. As the State Government has declared a drought in 151 talukas across the State, including seven in Pune district, senior officials started the management of water and fodder to handle the drought situation in an efficient way.
 
Ram said the move is being taken to avoid law and order situation. As there is shortage of fodder, there will be demand from different parts of the State and, hence, it is necessary to take the step. District administration officials said the current stock of fodder will last till January 2019 and, therefore, there is need for better planning. Pune district would require 2,500 metric tonnes of fodder till June 2019. The ban is been placed for two months by the district collector.
