Association of Pune NGOs holds rally, demands justice for all rape victims

Pune: Association of Pune NGOs (APN), an organisation of 12 NGOs, and various social workers in the city had organised a rally from NIBM Chowk to Jyoti Chowk in Kondhwa on Sunday for justice for the rape victims of Kathua, Unnao and Surat. Hundreds of participants wearing white, marched shouting slogans and carrying banners with messages about justice for victims.

Salim Mulla, President of APN, said, “The rally was attended by children and many others to spread the message that no rape victim should be silent and speak up about the incident to their closed ones so that the criminals are punished for their deeds.”

“Rape is becoming a very serious crime in our country and it is growing to an unbearable stage each and every day,” he added. Zaid Sayyad from Raabta Foundation said, “Rape incidents should not have any political involvement with it. It is a very crucial condition for the victim.”
