Army Law College will be inaugurated on July 16 in city

This institute is the 12th professional college under AWES and the second in Pune after AIT, Dighi. The first batch of this course is starting this academic year on July 17.

PUNE: The Army Law College, (ALC) a residential institute offering five years integrated BBA, LLB course is being established at Kanhe near Pune by the Indian Army, under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES).

The college will be inaugurated by Lt Gen DR Soni, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, on July 16.

This institute is the 12th professional college under AWES and the second in Pune after Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Dighi. The first batch of this course is starting this academic year on July 17. 

The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and has been approved by the Maharashtra government and the Bar Council of India. Children of serving and retired Army personnel are being given admission for the academic year 2018-19, based on marks scored in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law.

The Army Law College, Pune is being established on 5 acres of land, on a prime property gifted by Radha Kaliandas Daryanani Charitable Trust. The college is located at Kanhe, along the old Pune-Mumbai highway, approximately 45 km from Pune. The institution aims to prepare students to pursue a career at the Bar, in judicial services, Armed Forces, civil services, corporate houses and such like organisations of repute.

The fully residential college for boys and girls is being developed in three phases. The first phase includes the renovation of existing buildings to accommodate students for the first two years.  The second phase will come up with a complete infrastructure of Army Law College to include administrative and academic blocks, additional hostel accommodation, indoor and outdoor recreational areas.

The third and final phase will cater to the residential area for the staff of the Army Law College. The college aims at providing state-of-the-art infrastructure for the students which will include smart classrooms, Wi-Fi zone, various sports facilities etc., for ensuring an all-round development of the students pursuing the course. The Management Committee has also taken a lot of effort in ensuring that a highly experienced and qualified faculty is picked up for the college.
