Apology not enough, Cong demands action against Ram Kadam

Pune: State Congress President Ashok Chavan, on Friday, demanded suspension of BJP MLA Ram Kadam.
He said, “Ram Kadam’s apology is not enough, BJP should remove him from the party. He should be suspended like BJP MLC Prashant Paricharak.”

He was referring to senior BJP leader Chandrakant Patil’s statement that Ram Kadam’s remark against women should end as the latter has apologised. Chavan said, “There were women sitting in the police station to file a complaint against Kadam. But, it wasn’t taken. Now, CM should ask the police to file a complaint against Kadam. Mere apology does not solve the issue.”

Peaceful Bandh

Chavan said, “On increasing fuel prices, Congress party has called a ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Monday. It will be peaceful. There will be no violence during the bandh. We are talking with other parties to participate in the bandh.”

He further said, “Party will culminate ‘Jan Sangharsh Yatra’ on September 8 in Pune at SSPMS ground at 4.00 pm.”
