Pune: In a major breakthrough, officials of the Cyber Crime Cell (CCC) of the city police Crime Branch arrested one more Nigerian national allegedly involved in at least 15 debit/credit card cloning cases. Three Nigerian nationals were arrested earlier.
After days of follow through and camping in Mumbai and Bengaluru, CCC officials finally nabbed the accused, identified as Eremhen Smart (33), who was recently arrested by the Bengaluru police for overstaying in the country. The police also arrested his aide Irshad Solanki (20), a resident of Jogeshwari in Mumbai.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudhir Hiremath, the three Nigerian nationals arrested earlier, Ogbehase Fortune (42), from Pimple Gurav, Bashar Dakingari Usman (26), from Pirangut and Ifeanyi Mike Mbaeze (34), led to the information about Eremhen.

Police Inspector Manisha Zende said Erehmhen is involved in four cases of debit and credit card cloning at Hinjewadi, Chinchwad and Khadki. “He is accused in 11 similar cases in Bengaluru and is wanted by the Bengaluru police,” added Zende.
Speaking on the modus operandi, Hiremath said the accused bought skimmers through an online platform and installed them at unmanned ATM machines. He would steal the information and clone the cards. “We have seized 4 mobile phones, 2 laptops and Rs 1.65 lakh from the accused. He destroyed the skimmers used in the crime,”
The police team included Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Gavte, Police Sub Inspector Nitin Maske, Kiran Auti and policemen Deepak Bhosale, Aslam Attar, Kiran Abdagire, Aadesh Chalawadi, Shrish Gawde, Navnath Jadhav.
