Pune: The Pune Ophthalmological Society (POS), in association with Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society (MOS), will conduct the 11th Annual Conference ‘Insight 2018’ from December 7-9 in the city.
At the conference, there will be discussions on topics like glaucoma, cataract and cornea. It will also include a Surgical Skill Transfer Course for the delegates on December 7.
“We hope to create awareness about these topics along with updates on the latest happenings and advancements in these fields,” said Dr Nitin Prabhudesai, President of POS.
Emphasising on the application of the advancements, he added, “Our aim is to ensure that all delegates, especially general doctors, learn the advancements and apply them in their day-to-day practice.”
According to Dr Prabhudesai, the Surgical Skill Transfer course will help the attendees hone their ophthalmic skills. “This course involves hands-on experience by operating on wax eyes,” said Dr Sanjay Shah, Conference Coordinator.
“The delegates gain a one-on-one interaction with the experts, which will help them further refine their skills,” added Shah.
There will be around 30 experts deliberating at the conference, as well as a showcase of the research work done by the members of POS and MOS at the national and international level.
