Police said that the incident was a fall-out of a domestic issue

Pune: A man attempted suicide after attacking his wife, minor daughter, father-in-law and two other relatives at Kalepadal in Hadapsar late on Thursday evening. 

Police said that the incident was a fall-out of some domestic issue.

The injured persons are undergoing treatment at Sassoon Hospital and their condition is said to be stable.

According to Hadapsar police station officials, Milind Kasbe (32) was arguing with his wife Nandini (22) as she was opposing his parents’ demand that the family shift to Osmanabad where they reside. 

Kasbe works as a labourer here and his father wants him to return to their village. 

They had a heated argument over the issue and in a fit of rage Kasbe stabbed Nandini, their daughter, father-in-law Dilip Kamble and two other relatives. He then stabbed himself in the neck. The couple have one more daughter who had gone out at the time. Nandini and her daughter suffered serious injuries on their hands, while Kamble and the two relatives had injuries on their hands and backs.

Senior police inspector Vishnu Pawar, in-charge of Hadapsar police station, told Sakal Times, "All the injured persons are out of danger. Now we have registered an FIR against Kasbe for offence under section 307 (attempt to murder) under the Indian Penal Code (IPC)."
