There were nine groups who performed for 15 minutes each on Thursday - Samadhan Dhol Tasha Pathak, Shri Sudharma Dhol Tasha Pathak, Dhurandar Partisthan Dhol Tasha Pathak, Manini Dhol Tasha Pathak, Shivsamrajya Dhol Tasha Pathak, Shivadnya Dhol Tasha Pathak, Manaji Baug Dhol Zhanj Pathak, Kalyan Purva Basariwala Adhunik Dhol Tasha Pathak and Om Sai Group. The groups had different variations while playing dhol, tasha and zhanj. An all-woman Dhol Tasha group, Manini Group, stole the show.
Smita Indapurkar, leader of Manini Group, said, "We have women from the age of 18 to 60. We practice every day for two hours in the evening. Today, we played three variations in Dhol Tasha - Nashik Dhol, Nathewadi and Gavthi." She added, "Our aim is to make women happy as they have a lot of stress in their life, managing everything."
A visitor, Mahesh Lokhande, retired LIC Regional Manager, said, "The show is excellent and this type of culture should go on for centuries, as our children and grandchildren should also enjoy the same craze of the festive time that we have since we were children."
Sheetal Gawas, an animal caretaker by profession, said, "The Dhol Tasha inspires many people in the city. After listening to it, even I want to join the group. I have even spoken to the all-woman group that performed today."
