Pimpri: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar has launched a scathing attack on his former supporters and now BJP MLAs Laxman Jagtap and Mahesh Landge in Pimpri-Chinchwad during his ‘Halla Bol’ rally in Kalewadi on Wednesday.

Jagtap, on Thursday, reacted strongly to Pawar’s comments, saying NCP has been rejected by citizens, and that he should not ‘teach us’.

Pawar had said, “Dada and Bhau duo has developed a culture of siphoning funds from the PCMC. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has interest in Nagpur while Guardian Minister (Bapat) is more interested in Pune. Hence, there is no one left in Pimpri-Chinchwad to take care of the city.”

Pawar alleged that there is no one to question the two in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

On Thursday, Jagtap responded strongly, saying “Pawar, you were rejected by the people of this city, do not try to teach us. We are capable of running the PCMC and know our responsibility.”

Tender cancellation
Jagtap, commenting on the cancellation of solid waste management tender in Pimpri-Chinchwad, said, “The tender was not cancelled because of opposition’s allegations, it was cancelled due to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ intervention. If I am proved guilty of taking even one rupee for the tender, then I will quit politics.” Jagtap also added that the new tender will be for implementation of the project in eight parts.
